Given the unprecedented global supply chain disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to support global trade resilience. To shed light on this important subject, AustCham Korea is pleased to host a special webinar discussing 'Agri Supply Chains: Risk Mitigation and Resilience Post-COVID'.

Hosted at 12:30 pm KST on Tuesday, April 20th, the event will include a special presentation on the Australian Government's International Freight Assistance Mechanism (IFAM) presented by Marg Staib, Australian Government Freight Controller. Diving deeper into the export hurdles faced by Australian agri exporters, with a special focus on the Korean market, Robert McLeod, Product Manager Cold Chain Logistics - Oceania at A.P. Moller Maersk will give a presentation on navigating supply chain risks and building resilience. Julie Quinn, Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner, Austrade Korea & Mongolia, and AustCham Korea Board Member, will also provide some introductory remarks.

The two presentations will be followed by a moderated Q&A session, which will include pre-submitted and 'live' questions from the audience, and will be moderated by Rowan Petz, Executive Director at AustCham Korea.

Panellists will share:

  • Overview of the International Foreign Assistance Mechanism (IFAM) and explore case-studies of key Australian agri exports, including fresh fruit, meat, seafood and wine
  • Examine problems commonly faced by agri exporters and provide suggestions on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Discuss the disruptions caused by COVID-19 and identify alternative supply chain channels to navigate this changing landscape
