NSW Critical Mineral Investment Webinar

The New South Wales (NSW) Government and the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AustCham Korea) welcome you to a special online webinar promoting investment opportunities in NSW critical minerals and high-tech metal resources. This event is a collaboration between the NSW Government (NSW Resources and Investment NSW), AustCham Korea, the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation, and Austrade. This free webinar will feature presentations by the NSW Government, NSW critical minerals and high-tech metals project proponents, AustCham Korea and Austrade.

Why attend the webinar?

Hear firsthand from the following companies about their critical mineral projects:

  • Sunrise Energy Metals Limited – Sunrise Battery Materials Project (nickel-cobalt)
  • Australian Strategic Materials Limited – The Dubbo Project (rare earth elements, zircon)
  • Cobalt Blue Holding – Broken Hill Cobalt Project (cobalt)
  • Godolphin Resources Ltd – Narraburra REE project (rare earth elements)

The NSW Government will provide an overview of the state's strong resources sector and opportunities in critical minerals and high-tech metals.

Critical minerals and high-tech metals in NSW

NSW has an abundance of critical minerals and high-tech metals, with resources or exploration potential for 21 of the 31 minerals on the Australian Critical Minerals List. The state hosts advanced projects and emerging opportunities for cobalt, rare earth elements, scandium, magmatic zirconium, platinum group elements, tungsten and many more. NSW is also a producer of high-tech metals including copper and silver, which are critical for electrification and new technologies for renewable energy. In addition to our mineral endowment, NSW has a thriving metalliferous mining industry, a highly skilled workforce, world-leading safety, and environmental standards. This makes NSW well positioned to be a major exporter of responsibly sourced and value-added critical minerals and high tech-metals.

Why invest in NSW?

  • Significant critical mineral and high-tech metal potential
  • Extensive mineral endowment
  • Well-developed geological survey programs and data
  • Strong ESG credentials
  • NSW Renewable Energy Zones
  • Strong METS sector
  • Skilled workforce

Korean and Australian partnership

Our countries have a long history of working together, and in 2014 the Korea-Australia Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA) was entered into. The KAFTA is a world-class and comprehensive bilateral agreement that protects and enhances investment in both directions.
