Anthony Chang is a senior foreign attorney in the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Shin & Kim.
He has a wide range of experience in HR matters both as in-house and as outside counsel. Anthony was the head of the Korea law department for a multi-national corporation (Fortune 100) as well as a member of the senior management team for the Korean affiliate. His work experience both in-house, with a strong business perspective, and with law firms in Korea and the U.S. helps bridge the gap in helping to find practical solutions to complex and uncertain HR and corporate issues.
He is admitted in New York, Massachusetts and Missouri and has over 20 years of experience in Korea, the U.S. and Hong Kong.
Michael is a senior foreign attorney at Shin & Kim whose principal areas of practice are banking & finance, infrastructure, energy and M&A. Michael has broad ranging commercial law experience across a number of jurisdictions, including Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines, Peru, USA, Canada and Vietnam. He has acted for banks, infrastructure funds, strategic investors and governmental agencies in a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, media, power, mining, property development, hotels and transport. His clients have included Macquarie Bank, The Walt Disney Company, Shinhan Bank, Kohler Co., John Deere & Co., Kookmin Bank, Thomson Reuters, ACE Insurance, Standard Chartered, Australia and New Zealand Banking Corporation, Woori Bank and Volvo Financial Services.
He began practice in Melbourne with Arthur Robinson & Hedderwicks in 1996 (now known as Allens). Michael was seconded as a senior associate to Shin & Kim from 2002 to 2008, before returning to Allens Arthur Robinson’s Singapore office. He returned to Shin & Kim in 2010 as a senior foreign attorney.
During his time in Korea, he has advised numerous foreign clients in investments in Korea. His in-depth experience in different sectors and different aspects of Korean law allows him to provide commercial and integrated advice, whether it be to a strategic investor in the manufacturing or media sector or a financial investor in the infrastructure sector, Michael has the depth of experience and expertise to assist a client in reaching its commercial objectives in Korea.
In addition to his role at Shin & Kim, Michael is currently serving as a Board Member at AustCham Korea.
Rowan Petz is the Executive Director at the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea. Rowan brings a wealth of diverse experience and knowledge into his role having initially studied as a fraud investigator before moving into the currency management sector for six years.
Rowan’s passion for international trade and politics led him to a degree in International Relations from La Trobe University, Melbourne. Having received the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong and the Victorian Government’s Hamer scholarship awards, Rowan was granted the opportunity to study International Relations and Korean language at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.
With a strong passion for wanting to further strengthen the Australian-Korean relationship, Rowan commenced work at Chamber in 2016.
