AustCham Korea and the ANZCCJ are pleased to welcome you to a special online briefing 'South Australia: Hydrogen Export Opportunities'.

In exploring new opportunities for stronger collaboration between South Australia, South Korea and Japan, this hydrogen-themed session will feature an update from senior representatives of the South Australian government, while providing a platform for attendees to gain a comprehensive overview of the S.A government's new Hydrogen Export Modelling Tool.

The webinar will be hosted at 11:30 am KST / JST on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. The session will include presentations by the KPMG Australia team in charge of the Hydrogen Export Modelling Tool project, and South Australian Government representatives, including Richard Day, Director Strategy, Policy and Communications Growth and Low Carbon Division, Department for Energy and Mining, and Edit Mucsi, Business Development Manager (Fuels & Hydrogen), Department of Trade & Investment.

During the event, we encourage you to access the Hydrogen Export Modelling Tool (HEMT) for yourself while its functions are explained. If you wish to do so, please access the tool here before the event begins and register with your name and email address to receive the login details. (Note: access to the HEMT is free of charge)

About the Hydrogen Export Modelling Tool:

As a key measure under South Australia's Hydrogen Action Plan released by the South Australian Government in September 2019, AUD$1.25 million (ex GST) was committed to complete a hydrogen export pre-feasibility study and produce an online modelling tool and prospectus to inform the establishment of an international-scale clean hydrogen export value chain.

The Study examined locations for hydrogen production and export, volume of supply, the needs of potential hydrogen supply chain infrastructure and the costs associated with developing a commercial-scale hydrogen export industry within South Australia. Its findings are outlined in the Prospectus and underpin the design of the Tool.

The Tool is an important resource that will help to facilitate clean hydrogen investment into South Australia. It provides an indicative view of the hydrogen export supply chain configurations that are possible by leveraging the excellent resources in South Australia.

Users are able explore South Australia's hydrogen potential, selecting different factors such as demand volumes, production technologies and export terminals, to result in a final free-on-board cost of clean hydrogen from South Australia as well as the associated capital, operating and financing costs to achieve it.
