Director Strategy, Policy and Communications Growth and Low Carbon Division Department for Energy and Mining of Government of South Australia

Richard joined the South Australian Government in 2001 and
since that time has worked across the energy, climate change, industry development and low carbon economy
portfolios.

He currently heads up a Directorate within the Department of
Energy and Mining that is charged with capturing the economic growth and decarbonisation opportunities associated with South Australia’s clean energy transformation towards net 100% renewables, as well as sharing this story with the world.

Richard has spearheaded the development of SA’s Hydrogen Roadmap, Hydrogen Action Plan, Hydrogen Export Modelling Tool, and overseen the development of the State’s Electric Vehicle Action Plan. He is passionate about opportunities to further grow and attract energy intensive value-added industries to SA.

Emily Hallams is Executive Director at the Australian and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ANZCCJ). She graduated from the Australian National University with majors in Japanese Language and Northeast Asian Studies, before joining the JET Programme in 2016. Through JET, she was assigned to Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, where she served as Coordinator for International Relations for the Rugby World Cup 2019 Promotion Headquarters, until taking up her current position with ANZCCJ in February 2020.

Business Development Manager (Fuels & Hydrogen) at South Australia Department for Trade and Investment

Edit joined the South Australian Government in 2017 and since February 2020 she is leading the Hydrogen and Fuels subsector in the Department for Trade and Investment.

She was a contributor to South Australia’s Hydrogen Roadmap (2017), South Australia’s Hydrogen Action Plan (2019) and South Australia’s Hydrogen Potential – Prospectus and Hydrogen Export Modelling tool (2020). Edit had significant involvement to the “industrial workstream’ in the development of Australia’s National Hydrogen Strategy given her 10+ years European experiences in the Oil & Gas industry.

Edit is the focal point for international project developers, investors and potential off-takers to discuss hydrogen opportunities in South Australia. Her current focus is attracting foreign investments, developing hydrogen export strategies and supporting trade agreements.

Rowan Petz is the Executive Director at the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea. Rowan brings a wealth of diverse experience and knowledge into his role having initially studied as a fraud investigator before moving into the currency management sector for six years.
Rowan’s passion for international trade and politics led him to a degree in International Relations from La Trobe University, Melbourne. Having received the Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong and the Victorian Government’s Hamer scholarship awards, Rowan was granted the opportunity to study International Relations and Korean language at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.

With a strong passion for wanting to further strengthen the Australian-Korean relationship, Rowan commenced work at Chamber in 2016.
